October 22-23, 2019

200 Morris Building, Durham, NC

After a brief introduction and welcome by Richard Horton, we will host a round table discussion in which each commissioner will be asked to briefly introduce themselves and then provide a brief perspective on the question:

What outcome of the Lancet Commission on Hearing Loss would result in transformational change?

CART (communication access real-time translation) captioning will be provided, and we will have the option of including in this service a couple of languages via Google translation. We also plan to utilize the services of an exciting company that generates graphic displays of meeting discussions, to provide a visual perspective on common themes, and interactions among themes and concepts.

The meeting will include a couple of informational presentations and will include time in the afternoon for interactive brainstorming sessions, the products of which will be captured by various methods. Dinner will be provided, followed by two brief informational presentations. Meeting hours will be roughly 8 am to 8:30 pm on Tuesday (with an afternoon break from 4 – 6 pm), and 8 am to noon on Wednesday. Continental breakfast will be provided both days, and lunch and buffet dinner will be provided on Tuesday. A detailed agenda will be distributed prior to the meeting.
